nice trip up to Lancaster and back yesterday to pick up the freshly Rogered motor and the following running in procedures!
For your records the new valve clearances are: Inlet 0.20mm +/- 0.03mm Exhaust 0.30mm +/- 0.03mm.
After you have installed the engine and are ready to fire the engine please follow the following procedure.
1) Spin the engine on the starter for 30 seconds without the ignition (run button) being switch on so the bike does not fire.
2) Provided you have enough battery power left or a spare battery fire the bike and allow to run for a further 30 seconds at no more than 3500rpm
3) Switch the bike off and check the oil level and fill if needed.
4) Run the bike until it reaches Normal running temp. – switch off no more than 5000rpm
5) Wait until the bike has cooled and check the water and oil levels –top up if needed.
6) Run the bike again to NR Temp.
7) Set the Idle Speed when warm to a minimum of 1200rpm
8) The bike should be ready to ride following usual “Running In Procedures”
IMPORTANT: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE THE BIKE TO MERVYN MURPHY TO RAG THE ARSE OFF IT! HE IS AN ANIMAL
