SP-1 Penske Shock

Postby SP_HRC » Sun May 08, 2011 8:51 pm

A Penske shock from my Honda SP1. It's a two way adjuster model, 8983 with details available at:

http://www.penskeshocks.co.uk/motorcycl ... mper/2way/

The shock is in need of an overhaul and service as the rebound is now very, very slow to react so the bike sits squat for a while. I removed the unit a while ago once the problem arose and it's been stored ever since as I replaced it with Ohlins after a deal came up to good to miss. The bike has been used on the road and the paint has lifted a bit on the spring plus the external reservoir has wear marks from where it was mounted. All of this is cosmetic with nothing bent or broken.

A really nice piece of kit, very well made and lots and lots of adjustment to suit all styles of riding. Penske UK retail these for £650 and are pretty helpful when it comes to questions.

As stated this will need servicing before being fitted and this is reflected in the price.

£135 delivered to the UK.

Lots of photos available

Cheers.

I'll provisionally take it at asking :)

A couple of things though.

Cynical me, but seeing as you've just joined and only put 1 post in the for sale section;

Any chance of a photo of the shock with a loaf of bread next to it?
(Chances of finding that even with the aid of google images is slim)

Whereabouts are you?
(i.e. could I collect in person)

Sorry for the delay in responding, been a bit slack in checking back in. I've got plenty of pics of the shock which I can email, I had a few 'technical' difficulties in shrinking them down to right size hence the lack of images on the site.
Not many pics including a loaf but lots of the shock. If you're in London, you're welcome to come over, have a look, give it a good shake and take it if suits. If not posting is not a problem. PM me your email and I'll send over the images.

Cheers.

Much appreciated :)

It'll be getting serviced, then put on my track bike :D

Oh and lovely machines you have, you should definitely put pics up on here!

Took your advice and put a couple of snaps up of the SP. If I ever decide to put her back to standard, I'm sure some of those bits would suit your track bike very well.... ;)
