Hi Alex,

I binned the SP into a field last night and i'm currently in two minds about fitting the standard cans so it saves an expensive insurance claim. I hope your relative makes a speedy recovery mate, i'll be in touch soon when i don't feel quite so mashed. .

Dan,
Christ, hope you are all ok?
If you want to hang onto them, then I understand.
Just let me know what you decide?
Cheers,
Alex

Hahaha there's no need for that Pete!

(I had been looking at a few the day before!)

Thank you everyone for the well-wishes. I feel like I've lost a fight with Arnie and I have a headache that I can't seem to shift. Ruined my bloody leathers which is a bit of a bummer - I've got plenty of time to fix the SP up now though.

The bike unfortunately came off a bit worse than I did - I couldn't even ride it home since the clutch lever has disappeared into the undergrowth somewhere! The major structural bits seem okay which make it all the more frustrating because it's mainly cosmetic damage. For once, I wasn't speeding, either. Just nice and lazy 3rd gear on a long bend and must've caught some diesel or other such slippery substance.. (that's my excuse for binning the best handling bike ever, anyway)

Here's a few snaps of the damage - these were taken on the night in the garage, I've yet to go back and have a proper look.

Alex, I'm sorry to mess you around mate, I'm not sure if it'd be wise to sell the standard cans in light of this rather unfortunate development.

I'll be back with pictures of the restoration (we'll go with the Castrol fairings and powdercoated white wheels I reckon) or with more damage once I have a better look this weekend. :violin:

Take care everyone and ride safe.

Ah Bummer!
Looks mostly cosmetic at first glance though.
I've just helped my little Bro put his back together after an off at Castle Coombe and his R6 was amazingly simular looking to yours.ie Mashed!
No real frame or fork damage. It looks like new now (for about £500).Find a good sprayer and spend some time on E-bay and it's amazing what can be done quite economically.
Best of luck Dan.
