Recommend a good lithium battery?

Can anyone recommend a good quality lithium battery? There are so many different brands coming up.

these seem to be raved about, the lower one if you need more oomph for HC pistons, the 14ah should be more than enough.

Been looking at those myself. The second one is the one Shorai recommend for the RC

The problem is that if these do go totally flat then they are dead for good and you need a specific charger for them for trickle charging. I have a decent gel battery and an optimate charger with no issues but they are heavy! Then so am i and will be even heavier after xmas

Been running a Shorai 18Ah in my '08 FZ1 with no problems. Weighs about 1 Kg.
However, will see how it performs in cooler weather this winter.
Not that it gets very cold here in Florida.

This is the same Shorai model that I will be using on my SP2 when I get it back together.
I will say they do hold a charge quite well when sitting on a shelf. In 10 months, it's only dropped .1V.

As previously stated, do NOT let the lithium type battery go totally flat.
It will permanently damage the battery.
If the battery is temporarily discharged below 12V, quickly put it on a charger that supports non-sulfation mode (such as Battery Tender or similar) to boost it back to full charge.
Else, it may decrease the life of the battery.

Since these batteries use totally different technology than lead-acid types, it's just a matter of adapting to their unique requirments.

I believe shoari sell a specific charger and optimate now do a charger for this type of battery too although at £109 rrp its a bit expensive imo but does look a high quality product to be fair.

Lead acid will always be the cheap route as even a oem yuasa can be had for 50 quid but if you want to save 3 kg of weight high up this is this definitely thr cheapest and easiest mod available and for that reason I will be buying a shoari 18ah battery in spring.
