yeah, will be loads less than the ladybird, though I'm going a bit insane having studied every hrc sp1/2 race picture on the net to arrive at a pipe layout that makes me happy. Progress will be slow until im further down the road with the swingarm. Hopefully in 2 - 3 weeks I'll have a pic of the half completed (i.e. cut to bits) swingarm and some mock up pipes.
All the work done on the swingarm and brackets etc is recorded in drawings and templates to make it repeatable should the need arise for anyone else. Finished cans will be carbon oval sleeves with titanium ends. Got to figure out where to squeeze in some indicators too..
Plus I've got plenty of panels to rub down as well to keep me out of mischief.!

Flippen Heck! You must have forearms like Popeye if you can do that with a junior hacksaw!
I'd hate to see the carnage if you had anything bigger to hand :D

Big trouble in little garage.

Swingarm bolt seized in place.

Any ideas folks? Trying heat tomorrow, failing that I cut the swingarm off with a 9" grinder!!

Finally got the swingarm bolt out today. Much heat, more sweat and even more effort then it turned a fraction. Heat twist twist heat tap tap. .... repeat over 2 hours and the bolt is free! Should try cut arm on tomorrow to check the cut out is sufficient. The swingarm is gonna be all new bar the casting. In the process of machining new rear blocks. Just grabbing a bit of time when I can in between diy, family life and work.

So now the swingarm has been tried in place, the clearance looks good for the cabin style works pipes. Though now instead of cladding the old arm we are cutting all the plate off the casting and starting again. So my immediate job is to design and make a pair of axle blocks. While I'm at it I've bought a brembo rear calliper to mount under the swingarm and will weld an ali tube through the swingarm to feed the brake line. Best get to it then..
