R/H Zhorst,getting smokey??

Postby CHALKIE » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:48 pm

Anything to worry about?

L/H is normal, but I've been noticing the R/H side is "smoking" for a few seconds after a spin. :?

Something to fix, check or worry about? Oil levels were a little low,so topped up,and well, we'll see.

Is your oil old? How fast is the level dropping? It could just be some tired valve seals or something a lot more sinister. I'd start by pulling the plugs and trying to ascertain which pot is causing the trouble. A compression tester will give you a better idea if it's serious or not.
On the other side of the coin it could just be a blocked air filter and you are running way too rich or and some twins do it more than others there could just be some oil which has been spit back into the air box and what you are seeing is it being burnt out as it goes through the system. That could be fixed with a rag and a clean.
Sorry Chalkie, you're going to have to do a few more tests/checks to narrow it down.
