Looks neat, did you use the OEM rod and if so how much shorter or longer must it be?

The vara control rod Is a straight swap.
The original can be cut down to 306mm.
It's made the bike feel much easier to control.

Nice work!

Did you HAVE to trim the sprocket cover like that or did you choose to do that for quick front sprocket changes?

The cover won't fit straight off. You have to cut it down. I first just cut it straight across but it sits proud of the frame. This was the main reason for cutting it out. Sprocket changing was secondary but I do change the front sprocket sizes regularly & it is a faff you don't have to deal with anymore.

This is what you'll get before cutting down.

And after.

Theres an extended lip on the top side. I initially just cut a straight line from that lip to the bottom. The cver will then fit but I was'nt happy with the look.
I've cut it down again since.

Used the Cable & lever off an early Fireblade but have since changed the lever to a later Fireblade. 02 954 model because the brake levers are the same as the SP. So you can buy levers in pairs.

Only one minor issue is. Because of the snorkel, the radius of the clutch cable is a bit tight. Its well lubed & does'nt feel tight at all.In fact its pretty slick. But I reckon thats why Honda went with a hydraulic clutch with the banjo set at 90 deg. Because of the compact nature of the cockpit.
